White Nights International Cultural Festival

The White Nights International Cultural Festival, so named for the 24-hours of daylight that bathes this classical city during the summer, has become the largest annual music and cultural festival in Eastern Europe. Over the years the festival has featured some of the world’s greatest music acts, including Ricky Martin, Sheryl Crow, Joe Cocker, Steve Vai, Terence Trent D'Arby, and a host of others.

The Festival’s multi-day program features a series of outdoor rock and pop concerts, classical music concerts, fashion shows, private ballet performances, a number of charity events, a celebrity auction, gala dinners with Russia’s political and business leaders, a business reception at the Mayor's office, a gala party at an 18th century palace, as well as private sightseeing tours. Four days of concerts and related events boast a live attendance of 450,000 people and are seen by millions more on television with broadcasting to Europe, the United States, Latin America and Asia.

Started in 1991 to celebrate Russia’s democratic changes, the Festival has helped to raise people’s spirits, as well as the much needed funds for a number of international charities, including the Pediatric AIDS Foundation, the Revival Fund of the City, as well as various other children’s charities.
